5 Top Reasons people choose Italy for their Destination Wedding

Are you wondering why many wedding couples choose Italy as their wedding destination? I’m truly a fan of Italy and this May is going to be my 5th time to go there for sightseeing, and pilgrimage! Amen….. I’m lucky enough to know Riccardo, (ah ha……a handsome Italian guy :), who has built his own business Levante Travel in Hong Kong, so I can easily check with him for all thing about Italy, not to say the beautiful and value for money places for a wedding destination! Woohoo….

So, what are the top 5 reasons people choose to get married in Italy?

1. Varieties of beautiful & breathtaking places

Imagine what made Italian proud of themselves? Right….. the history….the legacy. The villas and castles dating back to the middle ages, the beautiful churches, the coastlines, greenery countryside, villages…..so it’s all about the scenery that you may have ever dreamt of for holding your wedding ceremony! What’s better than this having the nature as your backdrop that makes every photo shot memorable.
While many Hong Kong couples love to have their wedding photo shoot taken before the wedding (we call it Pre-Wedding photo shoot which is so popular in Hong Kong), I think this time, another great thing to try is to engage a local Italian Photographer to do it in Italy, and make it more “authentic”?

3. Comfortable weather

Every couple hopes for perfect weather for their wedding, and Riccardo told us that, the best season to get married in Italy is between May to September, when the average temperature is around 15’C to 27″C. Of course, as a professional wedding planner, I always remind my couples to have a backup plan and take all necessary precautions to protect themselves and the guests. Speak to the wedding planner!

4. The Paper Work to Get Married in Italy

Documents required are mainly visa to enter Italy, your birth certificate, passport, and a certificate attesting the marital status, and all these paper works can be well taken care by Levante Travel too. Generally, you are just required to arrive a few days before the ceremony in order to make a declaration of marriage. If you are thinking of holding a Catholic or Jewish, check with Riccardo too as they can take care of all these bookings too. They provide translation, so don’t worry anything about communication!

5. Shopping

Who doesn’t like shopping in Italy? From leather to luxury items, or even those small boutiques on the street are worthwhile to go. I always try to knock prices down a bit, but I rarely persist. Italian does have a good sense of style and in my eyes, a simple cutting or design look so much good on them. Less is more, isn’t it? And that’s called style!
Do you have a specific city in mind where you want to get married to your another half? Florence? Siena? Rome? Or you want to have a look on what options you can have with a budget in mind?  You may like drop a message to Riccardo and see how they can help!

Oh By the way, watch this video, it’s really interesting…. make sure you stay till the end of the video!
